Our fleet consists of firefighting and support vehicles, ready to operate in wildfire suppression, urban incidents, flood response, rescues, and other civil protection missions.
OAK-1 | Type B Firefighting Vehicle - Mitsubishi L200
Firefighting Vehicle Mitsubishi L200 4×4
This is a 4×4 Mitsubishi L200 pick-up-type firefighting vehicle, integrated into the fleet of O.A.K. 4×4 Messinia to enhance its operational readiness.
The vehicle is equipped with a 2,268 cc diesel engine delivering 110 hp, four-wheel drive with selectable high/low range and a rear locking differential.
It is double-cab, four-door, and can carry a crew of four (4) people, including the driver.
Mounted on the cargo bed is a custom-built firefighting superstructure by the Greek company “Militsis”, specialized in the construction of firefighting vehicle bodies.
The superstructure includes:
600-liter water tank
Gasoline-powered fire pump
Two storage compartments for firefighting equipment
Hose reel with high-pressure hose for rapid response
For safer operation both on roads and off-road terrain, the vehicle has been upgraded with reinforced suspension and wheels to withstand the permanent weight of the superstructure, ensuring high stability and traction even on uneven ground.
The vehicle was acquired thanks to the generous sponsorship of ALPHA BANK under the initiative “Together with a Focus on the Environment” and the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility program for 2022.
The Bank selected O.A.K. Messinia, along with five other volunteer groups from Attica, Loutraki, and Evia, aiming to support their efforts in forest protection and firefighting.
The funding fully covered the procurement of the “Dakota”-type firefighting vehicle, while the GENERALI Insurance Group provided comprehensive insurance coverage for the vehicle.
ΟΑΚ-2 | Type B Firefighting Vehicle - Chevrolet 1985
Firefighting Vehicle Chevrolet (1985)
This is a special water-tanker firefighting vehicle manufactured by Chevrolet in 1985, which initially served as a military vehicle of the Hellenic Army.
The vehicle is equipped with a V-type eight-cylinder diesel engine, 6,200 cc, delivering 170 hp, and has a 95-liter fuel tank.
For operational use, it features a four-wheel-drive system with a 50/50 front–rear power split and a low-range gear option. The rear axle is fitted with a 100% automatic locking differential, which engages automatically if either of the two rear wheels loses traction.
The vehicle can ford water crossings up to 1 meter deep and is equipped with a front hydraulic winch with a 9-ton pulling capacity.
It accommodates a crew of two (2) people and is fitted with a VHF communication system, siren and loudspeaker, emergency lighting, and work lights on all sides.
The firefighting superstructure was built by the Greek company “Militsis”, specialized in firefighting vehicle bodies.
It includes:
800-liter water tank
Fire pump with one high-pressure outlet and one low-pressure outlet
Two equipment compartments for storing firefighting tools
The firefighting vehicle was acquired by O.A.K. Messinia in February 2022, with the largest share of funding provided by a private sponsor who supported our volunteer team, making a significant contribution to strengthening our fleet and enhancing our operational capacity.
ΟΑΚ-3 | Type D Firefighting Vehicle - Magirus 1978
Firefighting Vehicle Magirus (1978)
This is a water-tanker firefighting vehicle built by the German company Magirus, model 1978, and is a key member of the O.A.K. 4×4 Messinia fleet.
The vehicle is equipped with an air-cooled V-type eight-cylinder diesel engine, 12,800 cc, delivering 232 hp, and has a 150-liter fuel tank.
Its drivetrain includes four-wheel drive, low-range gearing, and a rear locking differential, enabling reliable performance in off-road and rugged terrain.
The vehicle can carry a crew of up to three (3) people and is fitted with a Webasto fuel-burner heating system, independent of the engine’s operation.
Additional equipment includes a VHF communication system, siren and loudspeaker, as well as work lights on all sides of the vehicle.
The firefighting superstructure is a collaborative construction by Magirus – Rosenbauer and includes:

500-kg foam tank
Roof-mounted water cannon with adjustable spray range and a maximum discharge distance of up to 55 meters
Front water nozzles for combating creeping ground fires
Self-protection system
2 high-pressure hose lines
4 low-pressure outlets
1 suction inlet for external water supply
6 equipment compartments for storing tools and materials
The firefighting vehicle was acquired by O.A.K. Messinia in late March 2021 and was fully refurbished thanks to the Team’s own resources and the support of donors, restoring it to full operational readiness.
ΟΑΚ-4 | Type B Firefighting Vehicle - Camiva 1999
Firefighting Vehicle Camiva (1999)
This is a forest water-tanker firefighting vehicle by Renault (France), model 1999, primarily deployed in wildfires and rugged, hard-to-reach areas.
The vehicle is equipped with a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine, 6,177 cc, delivering 210 hp, and has a 150-liter fuel tank.
Its drivetrain features permanent four-wheel drive with 30% front / 70% rear power distribution, low-range gearing, a lockable center differential (50/50), as well as front and rear axle differential locks (100%), providing excellent traction on rough terrain.
Its approach and departure angles are specifically designed for off-road firefighting operations, allowing a climbing capability of up to 50%.
It can ford water crossings up to 1.10 m deep and is equipped with a front hydraulic winch with a pulling capacity of 5.5 t.
The crew cab accommodates up to five (5) personnel and is fitted with a VHF communication system, siren–loudspeaker unit, and perimeter work lights for enhanced operational efficiency.
The firefighting superstructure is manufactured by the French company Camiva and includes:

200-liter foam tank
Self-protection system with nozzles on the wheels and the cab roof
Camiva pump with 1 high-pressure outlet, 2 low-pressure outlets, and 1 suction inlet for external water intake
2 equipment compartments for tools and materials
The OAK-4 was granted to O.A.K. Messinia in June 2022 as a donation for use by the Hellenic Fire Service, significantly contributing to the enhancement of our operational capacity for forest firefighting.
ΟΑΚ-5 | Type A Firefighting Vehicle - Mercedes 1988
Firefighting Vehicle Mercedes (1988)
This is an urban-type water-tanker firefighting vehicle by Mercedes-Benz (Germany), model 1988, used in urban fire operations as well as support missions.
The vehicle is equipped with an inline six-cylinder diesel engine delivering 220 hp and a 160-liter fuel tank.
Its drivetrain provides selectable four-wheel drive with 50% front / 50% rear power distribution, low-range gearing, and a 100% rear-axle differential lock, ensuring reliable traction in challenging conditions.
The vehicle can ford water crossings up to 1 m deep and is fitted with a pre-installed pneumatic automatic snow-chain system on the rear wheels.
The crew cab accommodates up to nine (9) personnel and is equipped with a VHF communication system, siren–loudspeaker unit, emergency lighting, and work lights on all sides.
The firefighting superstructure was built by Ziegler and includes:
2,500-liter water tank
Ziegler pump with 1 high-pressure outlet, 4 low-pressure outlets, and 1 suction inlet for external water intake
5 equipment compartments for easy access to tools and accessories
Specialized water-pumping equipment, rescue tools, lifting airbags, and additional firefighting gear
The OAK-5 was added to the O.A.K. Messinia fleet in July 2022, thanks to the financial support of a sponsor of the Team, significantly contributing to the enhancement of our operational capability in urban firefighting and support incidents.
Traktor / Special Vehicle - MF 390E 1997
O.A.K. Tractor (1997)
The O.A.K. tractor is a specialized machine by Massey Ferguson, model 390E. It is equipped with four-wheel drive and a locking differential.
Powered by a Perkins 4.0-liter diesel engine, it delivers 85 hp.
It can assist in wildfire operations by creating firebreaks, in road clearing, and in removing debris from roads during severe weather events such as floods, heavy snowfall, earthquakes, and more.
It is equipped with a front hydraulically operated dozer blade and a rear-mounted water tank with a pump for water suction and pressure delivery.
The specialized tractor was acquired as a used vehicle through a free transfer to our Team, following a donation from the Hellenic Fire Service in 2024.
Personnel Transport Van - Mercedes Vito 2006
Mercedes Vito (2006)
The Personnel Transport Van is an 8-seater Mercedes-Benz VITO 110, equipped with a 2,148 cc diesel engine delivering 110 hp.
This vehicle was acquired in 2025 through a donation from the German Fire Service (with a symbolic invoice value of €1,500) to support the mission of our Team, with the crucial contribution of Greek supporter Fotis Salamanis.
