Areas of Action
O.A.K. Messinia operates on a voluntary basis in emergency incidents, providing support in wildfires, floods, rescues, missing-person searches, and in any critical need of the local community.

Earthquakes
In the event of a seismic incident causing destruction or entrapment of people, O.A.K. Messinia, under the guidance of official authorities, can provide assistance both with its motorized equipment and trained members wherever needed.

Floods
With its specialized 4×4 vehicles and pumping equipment, O.A.K. Messinia assists in flood situations by removing debris, pumping water, rescuing trapped individuals and vehicles, as well as transporting rescuers, medical staff, or essential equipment to hard-to-reach areas.

Wildfires
In collaboration with the Hellenic Fire Service, O.A.K. Messinia responds to wildfires using its firefighting unit and 4×4 vehicles, supporting fire suppression efforts, water supply for fire engines, and the transport of equipment, rescuers, or citizens to remote locations.

Snowfalls
During snow events, O.A.K.’s specialized 4×4 vehicles, equipped with radio communication and snow chains, operate to rescue stranded travelers or vehicles, transport vulnerable individuals, as well as rescuers or medical personnel to affected areas.
Prevention
The best way to address extreme weather events and natural disasters is awareness and prevention.
At O.A.K. Messinia, a primary responsibility of our communications and information officers—such as issuing severe weather bulletins, wildfire risk maps, and similar updates—is to ensure the immediate delivery of critical information to both our team members and the public.
This is achieved through the O.A.K. website, providing useful links, push notifications, as well as through social media platforms and the internal communication network among our members.
